A note from the artist:

Recently I’ve seen a lot of discourse around whether or not men should be allowed to wear dresses and skirts and decided to make this piece. The expectations put on us as a society to dress a certain way is very crushing for many, the idea that what someone wears dictates their femininity or masculinity doesn’t make sense. Clothing is just a bunch of fibers woven together and sewn to be a certain shape. Our bones look the same regardless of gender. Throughout history, all over the world, men have worn dresses. I wanted to create a drawing that if you look at it for longer maybe you realize that just from this picture you can’t tell the gender of the subject based on what it’s wearing. Feel free to express your clothing and gender however you want and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
